TERRY COX JOSEPH
Watermedia
When people ask me what I paint, I usually say, “Everything.” I prefer nature, animals and people, and enjoy using a variety of papers, including Arches (which I sometimes tea stain), Egyptian papyrus, and handmade Japanese and Thai banana and bark papers. I use Yarka and Dr. Martin watercolors and Staedtler watercolor pencils. I have a background in commercial design, printing, publishing, illustration and graphic design and a BFA in illustration from Minneapolis College of Art and Design. I am an artist member of Blue Skies Gallery in Hampton, and enjoy participating in member shows and monthly themes where I can create more "fun" types of art beyond the constraints of commercial design. When not working on a commission, I enjoy painting and taking photos of my yard, on Deep Creek, or the Hampton waterfront.
