Artist's Statement:
"I believe that painting results from
not only study, but life experience. I have a traditional background
of study (BA in art), but my interests have also included the study
of calligraphy and oriental brush painting, poetry, European History
and teaching. How do I paint? First comes the idea and how it might
be interpreted in a two-dimensional space. The possibilities of
color and movement, composition and design, make me return to the
basic concepts of art as a starting point. I believe that a painting
evolves during the process of development, is never static,
and can teach the artist, and the seer, of the possibilities of
art and life."
