I paint primarily in watercolors and
mixed water media, sometimes incorporating
colored pencil, watercolor crayons,
pastels, pen &ink or
collage. I paint from real life as
well as from photographs I've taken
on my travels.
My art background includes a B.A.
in Fine Art from San Diego State University
with a concentration in painting and
printmaking. I've always been involved
in creative projects, but I've only
been concentrating on painting since
1997 when I began studying watercolors
with Jan Ledbetter. I have also taken
classes with Phyllis Greenway and workshops
with Doug Walton, Linda Stevens-Moyer,
Judi Betts, Jean Grasdorf, Gerald Brommer,
Polly Hammett, Alex Powers, Carrie
Brown, Chung Khee Chee, Skip Lawrence and Christopher Schink.
I show my work at This Century Art
Gallery in Williamsburg, where I am
also the webmaster and a member of
the board, and have exhibited at Art
on the Square and An Occasion
for the Arts in Williamsburg for
the past several years. I also do web-design
for artists and arts organizations
and am the webmaster for the VWS.
When I'm not painting, I work at the
College of William & Mary as a
web developer for the Office of Planning & Assessment.
