SATURDAY MAY 15
CULTURAL ARTS CENTER OF GLEN ALLEN
originally a 1911 school

The business meeting, breakfast, walk-around, opening reception and awards banquet will be held at the Cultural Arts Center of Glen Allen. Easily found, located on Mountain Road, the arts center is accessed from I-295. (Directions)

Saturday, May 15 of the VWS Exhibition Weekend will start at the Cultural Arts Center-Glen Allen with an option of a continental breakfast with juice and coffee at the 8:45 registration. After the 9:30 a.m. annual business meeting, we will enjoy an exhibition walk-around with juror Gerald Brommer. Boxed lunches can be ordered and shared together after the walk-around. Breakfast and boxed lunches will be provided by Homemades By Suzanne, one of Richmond’s favorite caterers since 1983.

Register for the Breakfast, Boxed Lunch and Awards Banquet using the Event Registration Form (.pdf).

In the afternoon before the Opening Reception at the Cultural Arts Center, you will be free to enjoy Richmond, the Virginia Museum of Fine Art, local galleries, shopping at Short Pump or just taking a nap. Kathy Miller and I have found several close-by hotels that will give us special rates through April 15. Mention that you are with the VWS.

OPENING RECEPTION & AWARDS BANQUET

The Opening Reception at 5:30-7:00pm will be hosted by the Cultural Arts Center . The reception is free and open to the public. An awards banquet will follow in the Cardinal Ballroom at the Cultural Arts Center at 7:00pm . Dinner options will include choices of Breast of Chicken, Beef Tenderloin, or Portabella Mushroom, accompanied by a Garden Salad, Homemade Rolls, Sour Cream Coconut Cake and coffee. Wine can be purchased separately. An image show will accompany the awards presentation and remarks by juror Gerald Brommer.

Homemades by Suzanne is one of Richmond ’s most in-demand caterers. We hope you will be delighted and surprised by the offerings. The local hotels look forward to being your home away from home, and are easily accessed from the Arts Center. Don’t hesitate to call us if you have any questions.
